Corn and Callous Debridement

Feeling "Rough Around The Edges"?

If you’re frequently exercising, wear tighter poor-fitting shoes, or simply spend a lot of time on your feet, you may encounter issues with corns or calluses.

Whereas corns are small circles of thick skin typically on the toes and soles, calluses are rough and hard patches found along the ball or heel of the foot. Both conditions are caused by excessive friction and pressure. The foot develops corns and calluses in an attempt to prevent the skin from blistering or breaking.

A Foot Care Nurse will determine treatment after assessing severity of the condition. Debridement of corns or callouses and health teaching on proper footwear, also suggest products if necessary.
